Lovely Irises! Penny says they are pure blue (on her laptop). On my (calibrated) screen they appear mauve/purple. Penny wants to know if my calibration is rubbish?

Your calibration is spot on. The upper petals were a slightly pale lilac and the lower ones were purple with blue veins. I was particularly careful to replicate the colours due to the ‘blue/mauve digital thing’. Now do the decent thing and calibrate Penny’s monitor for her
