Female 'Beautiful Demoiselle' (Calopteryx virgo) on the River Wey. It was blowing a hoolie so it's not as sharp as I would like. I think I have the genus right but please correct me if I'm wrong!

I assume this is with the 100-400 – so a minimum of 6 feet away (unless you are using extension tubes with the lens).
Nice focus work on the eye.
How much of a crop is this (width wise)? Was it hand held or taken with your tripod and what metering did you use: spot or evaluative?
Nice bokeh with the large aperture, though I think f/8 would have given you more sharpness to the rear of the wings.
Overall, nice colours and very pleasing image.

Gah, I’m no good at spatial stuff! Width-wise, I reckon that I’ve lost about a third of it. I used the 400mm (without extras) and it’s hand-held. Tripods on a tow path are a nightmare! The movement on the rear of the wings is due to the damselfly trying to keep a hold in the wind.
