Width-wise, I reckon that I've lost about a third of it. I used the 400mm (without extras) and it's hand-held. Tripods on a tow path are a nightmare! Nice focus work on the eye. How much of a crop is this (width wise)? Was it hand held or taken with your tripod and what metering did you use: spot or evaluative? Nice bokeh with the large aperture, though I think f/8 would have given you more sharpness to the rear of the wings. Overall, nice colours and very pleasing image.
