Male Beautiful Demoiselle (Calopteryx virgo).

Another damselfly shot taken last Sunday on a windy River Wey. I haven't photographed minibeasts before but I'd like to take more and (hopefully!) vastly improve upon the technical quality and focus. I have a lot to learn about this type of photography as you can clearly see.

BTW, 'Beautiful Demoiselle' is the common name for the genus; it's not me being all girly and unnecessary ;)

  1. Similar to the female. Again very sharp focus on the eye and the edge of the leaf. The sharpness of the rear of the body and wings is a trade off with the bokeh, which is very nice. I like it.
