Soldier Beetles (Rhagonycha fulva), so named as their colouring is reminiscent of old fashioned soldier uniforms. They're also known as 'bonking beetles' - you can see why ;) They're very common in the UK and are usually found (in many numbers) on the flower heads of cow parsley and hogweed. If you find them under the leaves, rest assured that a thunderstorm will be arriving in a few hours.
