Fake tilt-shift manipulation usually works better on photos taken from an elevated view but as I don't have any of those I thought I'd try it out on one that I took of the Popeye Village. The irony of creating a fake model effect on life-sized buildings, which were constructed to emulate cartoon houses, rather appealed to me.
This tutorial is a good place to start and it's also worth checking out the tilt-shift group on Flickr.
