Large Red Damselfly (Pyrrhosoma nymphula). It's not actually that large, at about 5cm long, but it's pretty prolific at the moment and is very common in Surrey. This damselfly is usually the first species to emerge in the Spring. Taken yesterday at Coombe Wood.
